# Enchant grade system

<figure><img src="/files/0tWXKXtU5dUXgSBjGUOT" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## 1) <mark style="color:$info;background-color:$info;">Overview</mark>

Enchant Grades add a progression layer **on top of refining**. You keep refining your weapon like normal, **then** improve its *grade* to boost the value of those refines and, at **Grade A**, unlock extra per-refine perks.

**Key points**

* Grades run **D → C → B → A**.
* You can upgrade grade at the **Enchant Grade Master (Haldier)**.
* Your current grade is shown as **\[D] / \[C] / \[B] / \[A]** in menus/tooltips.
* Only **Grade A** grants *extra bonuses per refine* (see Section 5).

## 2) <mark style="background-color:$info;">How Enchant Grades Work</mark>

* Each eligible item (mainly **weapons**) starts at **Grade D**.
* You can rank it up to **C, B, and A** using materials and Zeny.
* Grades affect:
  1. **Refine scaling** (how much benefit you get from each refine level).
  2. **(Grade A only)** Extra bonuses that scale with your item’s **refine** and **weapon level**.

> If you see the grade tag like **\[A]** next to the item name or in the UI, that item is already Grade A.

## 3) <mark style="background-color:$info;">Rank Up Your Gear</mark>

1. <mark style="color:$primary;">**Find Haldier**</mark> (Enchant Grade Master) in the main town.
2. Choose the item you want to upgrade.
3. Confirm the material & Zeny cost (varies by grade step and item).
4. If the attempt **succeeds**, your item’s grade increases (D→C, C→B, or B→A).

## 4) <mark style="background-color:$info;">Grade Bonuses at a Glance</mark>

Most of the magic happens at **Grade A**, which adds *per-refine* perks. For **D/C/B**, expect standard refine behavior (the exact multipliers are server-configured).

**You always keep your normal refine benefits**; Grade A just layers extra bonuses on top.

## 5) <mark style="background-color:$info;">Grade A — Per-Refine Bonuses</mark>

At **Grade A**, your weapon gains **extra bonuses that scale with refine level** and **weapon level**.

> "Per refine" means the bonus is **multiplied by your current refine level**.\
> Example: If a perk says **+3% per refine** and your weapon is **+10**, that’s **+30% total** from this perk.

#### <mark style="color:purple;">Weapon Level rules for Grade A</mark>

| Weapon Level | Extra Critical per refine | Extra Damage vs **all elements** per refine | Attack speed per refine |
| ------------ | ------------------------: | :-----------------------------------------: | :---------------------: |
| **WLv 1**    |               **+2 Crit** |         (no extra elemental damage)         |     (no extra aspd)     |
| **WLv 2**    |               **+3 Crit** |      **+1%** (physical **and** magical)     |     (no extra aspd)     |
| **WLv 3**    |               **+5 Crit** |      **+2%** (physical **and** magical)     |        +1% (aspd)       |
| **WLv 4**    |               **+8 Crit** |      **+3%** (physical **and** magical)     |        +2% (aspd)       |

* “Crit” here is the **value you see on the character window**.
* "Damage vs all elements" applies against **Neutral, Water, Earth, Wind, Fire, Holy, Dark, Ghost, Poison, and Undead** targets, for both **physical** and **magical** damage.

**Quick examples**

* **WLv 4 Grade A +10** → **+80 Crit** and **+30% damage vs all elements** from Grade A perks.
* **WLv 2 Grade A +12** → **+36 Crit** and **+12% damage vs all elements** from Grade A perks.
* **WLv 1 Grade A +9** → **+18 Crit** (no elemental bonus).

> These bonuses are **in addition** to any other refine effects, cards, enchants, or skills.

## <mark style="color:purple;">Refine Grades  - How the Bonus ATK Works</mark>

> The Grade on your weapon *multiplies the ATK you get from refine*.\
> For **Weapon Level 1** (WLv1), base refine gives **+2 ATK per +1**.\
> Grades add extra % on top of that base:
>
> * **Grade D** = **+50%** more refine ATK
> * **Grade C** = **+150%** more refine ATK
> * **Grade B** = **+250%** more refine ATK
> * **Grade A** = **+350%** more refine ATK

### 1) <mark style="background-color:$info;">The Base: Refine ATK (WLv1)</mark>

* By default on this server, **WLv1** weapons gain **+2 ATK per refine**.
  * Examples with **no grade**:
    * **+1** → 2 ATK
    * **+5** → 2 × 5 = **10 ATK**
    * **+10** → 2 × 10 = **20 ATK**

> This “base refine ATK” is what the Grade multiplies.

*

```
### 2) <mark style="background-color:$info;">The Grade Bonus (WLv1)</mark>
```

```
Grades add **extra % of the base refine ATK**.\
Formula (showing the _extra_ and the _total_):
* **Grade D (+50%)**
  * **+1**: 2 + 50% = **3 ATK** (2 + 1)
  * **+10**: (2 × 10) + 50% = 20 + 10 = **30 ATK**
* **Grade C (+150%)**
  * **+1**: 2 + 150% = **5 ATK** (2 + 3)
  * **+10**: 20 + 150% = 20 + 30 = **50 ATK**
* **Grade B (+250%)**
  * **+1**: 2 + 250% = **7 ATK** (2 + 5)
  * **+10**: 20 + 250% = 20 + 50 = **70 ATK**
* **Grade A (+350%)**
  * **+1**: 2 + 350% = **9 ATK** (2 + 7)
  * **+10**: 20 + 350% = 20 + 70 = **90 ATK**
> **Tip:** The % is applied to the base refine ATK, not to your total ATK stat.\
> In practice, the server calculates with integers (fractional results are truncated).
```

## 7) <mark style="background-color:$info;">FAQ</mark>

**Q. Where do I see my current grade?**\
A. Look for the grade tag **\[D] / \[C] / \[B] / \[A]** next to the item name or in the Enchant Grade UI.

**Q. Do I lose refines when I rank up?**\
A. No. Ranking up changes the **grade**, not the refine level.&#x20;

**Q. Does the Grade A elemental damage work on magic too?**\
A. Yes. The “damage vs all elements” perk applies to **both physical and magical** damage.

**Q. Does this stack with cards, elemental converters, and skills?**\
A. Yes. Grade perks stack with your usual builds and gear.

**Q. Which items can be graded?**\
A. Most **weapons**. the NPC menu will only show eligible items.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://www.btkwiki.info/ingame-guides/features/enchant-grade-system.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
